Steam Autumn Sale Starts October 1, and Valve's Calendar Runs Into Mid-2027

Steam shoppers can start lining up their wishlists. Valve's Autumn Sale 2026 kicks off on October 1 and runs through October 8, the first of several major discounts on the company's schedule.

The bigger news for planners is how far ahead Valve has published its calendar. Rather than leaving players guessing, the company has dated its sales and themed Fests well into next year, so you can budget months in advance.

After the Autumn Sale, October stays busy. Cooking Fest runs October 12 to 19, followed by the October Next Fest from October 19 to 26. Steam Scream V, the horror showcase, closes out the month, running October 26 to November 2. November has one listed event, the Auto-Battler RPG Fest, from November 16 to 23.

The Steam Winter Sale 2026 is set for December 17 through January 4, 2027, the usual holiday window for deep discounts.

Early 2027 is packed with genre events. Desktop Companion Fest runs January 14 to 18, and Shop Keeper Fest follows from January 25 to February 1. February brings Sheep Fest (February 4 to 8), Couch Co-Op Fest (February 8 to 15) and the February Next Fest (February 22 to March 1).

March starts with Rhythm Fest from March 8 to 15. The Steam Spring Sale 2027 arrives March 18 to 25, and Dinos vs. Robots Fest takes over from March 29 to April 5.

April lines up Racing Fest (April 12 to 19), Witch Fest (April 22 to 26) and Fighting Fest (April 26 to May 3). May has Real-Time Strategy Fest from May 10 to 17 and Mountaineering Fest from May 31 to June 3.

June is the other big month. The June Next Fest runs June 14 to 21, and the Steam Summer Sale 2027 follows from June 24 to July 8. After that, Valve's next event is the Social Deduction Fest in July, which focuses on games about crimes, mysteries and solving them.

A quick note on how these differ. The seasonal sales, Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer, are the broad discount events. Next Fests and genre Fests are mostly about demos and spotlighting games in a particular niche, though they often come with discounts on related titles.

If you are saving for a particular game, the calendar helps. The Winter Sale has traditionally been the deepest of the year, but the Autumn Sale lands first and could be a good time to grab anything you have been watching.
