GTA 6 Screenshot Looks Like a Straight Nod to Pulp Fiction's Diner Scene
GTA 6·October 3, 2026

A fresh Grand Theft Auto 6 screenshot has fans reaching for their Tarantino references. The image, first shared by Love magazine on Instagram, shows protagonists Lucia and Jason in a setup that closely echoes the famous diner opening of Pulp Fiction.
The GTA 6 Countdown account on social media helped the comparison along by putting the screenshot beside the film scene. The framing is the clearest overlap, but the mood matches too. Both characters are gripping pistols, and an empty duffel bag sits next to Lucia, which suggests she is about to load it with cash and valuables rather than sit down for breakfast.
In the 1994 film, the diner scene belongs to Pumpkin and Honey Bunny, played by Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer, who decide to rob the place they are eating in. Since Lucia and Jason are criminals themselves, a robbery in this setting would not be a leap.
That fits the broader pitch for the game. GTA 6 is built around a Bonnie and Clyde-style story of two lovers on the wrong side of the law. That story famously ended badly for the originals, and players are already guessing how things might wrap up for Lucia and Jason.
Movie nods are nothing new for Rockstar. Vice City leaned heavily on Scarface, and GTA 5 included clear references to Heat. A Pulp Fiction wink would sit comfortably in that tradition.
The same Love magazine feature included comments from two of the game's writers. Elizabeth Gauvey-Kern said the team wanted both leads to be "vulnerable, tough, flawed, right sometimes, wrong sometimes, able to learn from each other," adding that this is what made them authentic and a great team. Fellow writer Alexa D'Agostino said that when you focus on writing a fully realized person with their own wants, "you're going to get something perfectly imperfect, with clichés, but also undeniably real."
GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The day before, on November 18, the Miami Heat will wear GTA 6-inspired jerseys and play on a court themed around Vice City, the game's stand-in for Miami. The story will also take players beyond Miami to other parts of Florida, though a Rockstar take on Walt Disney World is apparently not on the itinerary.
