God of War Ragnarok Hits Its Lowest PC Price Yet at $36.59

If you have been waiting for the right moment to pick up Kratos' latest outing on PC, this may be it. God of War Ragnarok has fallen to $36.59 / £30.49 at Fanatical, the lowest price the game has reached on PC so far.

Ragnarok continues the story started in the 2018 reboot-slash-sequel. Kratos and Atreus find themselves in the middle of Fimbulwinter, the harsh run-up to the Norse apocalypse. Odin is chasing absolute knowledge, a vengeful Vanir goddess is on their trail, and a clash with Thor sets the stakes for the rest of the adventure. The goal is to unite the realms before everything ends, something Odin has every reason to prevent.

The series has changed a lot since its early days. The older games leaned on Greek tragedy and fast hack-and-slash combat. The Norse duology is more cinematic and the fighting is heavier and more grounded. Swings of the Leviathan Axe and slashes of the Blades of Chaos land with real weight, which keeps the combat satisfying across the whole campaign.

The package also includes Valhalla, a free roguelite mode added after launch. It is more than a simple arena challenge. Each run offers different upgrades and attributes, which adds replayability and deepens the combat. Valhalla also has a narrative of its own, giving players a reason to return after the main story ends.

Regarded as one of the best PS5 games, Ragnarok is now a far easier purchase for PC players who skipped it at full price. The Fanatical listing is the one to watch if you want the lowest price seen so far.
