PS Plus October 2026: F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force Join the Lineup

PlayStation has lined up its monthly PlayStation Plus games for October, and this time the mix covers racing, extraction shooting and bug-blasting chaos. Starting October 6, all PS Plus members can add F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 to their libraries. The games can be claimed until November 2.

F1 25 is the latest in Codemasters' annual Formula One series. It carries the full roster of official teams and drivers from the 2025 season, along with a deep career mode and the My Team 2.0 option for single-player fans. On the multiplayer side, F1 World lets players take on a field of AI-controlled drivers.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 is the pick for anyone who likes tension. It is a punishing extraction shooter where players hunt down bloodthirsty monsters in swampy environments. The clock is always ticking, and rival hunters are chasing the same prey, so every escape has to be earned with whatever tools you have on hand.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 brings the blocky, over-the-top series back with another alien assault on Earth. It works as a crossover that pulls in heroes from across the EDF franchise, and players will need to build a team to stop the new threats. It is the only one of the three that also supports PS4 alongside PS5.

With Halloween a few weeks out, PS Plus members will also be able to claim free horror-themed in-game item bundles for titles such as Call of Duty: Warzone and Overwatch. Those extras will arrive gradually throughout the month.

One reminder for anyone behind on their backlog of freebies: September's PlayStation Plus games are still up for grabs, but only until next Tuesday. After that they disappear from the claim list, so grab them before October's batch replaces them.
