Dead by Daylight Studio Is Quietly Building a Realistic Sci-Fi Shooter
Industry·October 6, 2026

Behaviour Interactive, the Canadian developer best known for the asymmetrical horror hit Dead by Daylight, appears to be working on something very different. Recent job listings point to a new triple-A, sci-fi first-person shooter, and the postings make clear the team is aiming high on visual fidelity, citing "a high realism bar."
The listings are the main evidence so far. The studio has not formally announced the project, named it, or given a platform or release window. What the postings do suggest is a substantial production, with roles being filled for a big-budget shooter rather than a small side experiment.
That would mark a notable shift for Behaviour. The Montreal-based company built its reputation on Dead by Daylight, a long-running multiplayer survival game where one killer hunts a group of survivors, and has leaned heavily on licensed crossovers and ongoing live-service content to keep it going. A realistic sci-fi FPS is a far cry from that formula, both in genre and in technical ambition.
It also fits a wider pattern. Established studios with a single dominant live-service title are increasingly looking for a second pillar, and shooters remain one of the most lucrative and competitive spaces to chase. Whether Behaviour's new game is a single-player experience, a multiplayer title, or something in between is not yet clear from the hiring material.
Behaviour has tried to diversify before, with mixed results, so expectations should be measured. Still, a triple-A shooter with realism as a stated goal suggests the studio is betting big. Until an official reveal arrives, treat the details as early and subject to change.
