007 First Light Adds Jack the Bulldog as Wishlists Hit 7 Million

IO Interactive has found a playful way to celebrate 007 First Light passing 7 million wishlists on Steam. The studio has added Jack, the gruff bulldog who has turned up across several Bond films, to the game's TacSim lobby. Every player gets him for free, and between missions he is there to keep you company. According to IO, you can pet him.

Jack first appeared in Skyfall in 2012 as a statue on M's desk. He came through the explosion that tore through MI6 in that film, though his face was cracked and his Union Jack flag was scorched. He went on to appear in Spectre and No Time To Die. In First Light, he is no longer stone. IO describes him as a "warm, loyal presence" and says he has become a fixture around MI6, with Bond growing fond of him between assignments.

The dog arrives alongside the free Extended Operations DLC, which is out now. The update adds New Game+, a new 00 difficulty mode for players who want a harder fight, and a Photo Mode. It also expands TacSim with a new mission set in Vietnam.

If you have been waiting to pick the game up, it is currently 30% off on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, bringing the price down to $49. A Switch 2 version is due in March 2027. IO has not confirmed a sequel, but the game's momentum makes a follow-up feel like a question of when rather than if.

The timing of the update is fitting. October 5 marked James Bond Day, the anniversary of Dr. No's release in 1962, and Prime Video chose the same stretch to add every Bond movie to its catalog.
